About Us
A Place Where Care Means More, Community Comes First, and Everyone Belongs.
Nestled beside the peaceful greenery of Blackburn’s historic Corporation Park, just a short walk from the town centre, Hollymount is an independent, locally run care home offering personalised residential, dementia, respite and day care.
We blend heritage charm with a warm, family-first atmosphere where every person is known, valued, and supported to live with dignity, joy and purpose.
Great care is personal, it’s built on trust, connection and relationships. From remembering how someone takes their tea to sharing a laugh at lunchtime, we’re here for the little moments as much as the big ones.
Our approach is guided by one simple question:
“What matters most to you?”
Every day at Hollymount is an opportunity to feel at home, stay connected, and live well together.
Our Mission & Values
Our Mission
To provide personalised care that respects dignity, champions choice, and fosters meaningful connection, every day.
We strive to create a warm, uplifting environment where people feel safe, valued, and truly at home. Whether staying for the long term, a short break, or at the end of life. Every person is cared for with kindness, consistency, and deep respect. Just as we’d want for our own families.
Our Values
At Hollymount, care is more than a service, it’s a relationship built on trust, understanding, and a genuine attention to the little things.
- Kindness First: We hire for heart as well as skill. Every team member is here because they truly care.
- Dignity & Respect: Whether we’re supporting someone to dress, dine, or simply feel heard. We do everything with patience, understanding and compassion.
- Listening & Learning: We listen closely and welcome feedback from families, residents and each other to keep improving how we care.
- Community & Belonging: Hollymount is more than a care home. It’s a place where people feel safe, seen, and supported.
- Joy in the Everyday: From baking and music to trips and themed afternoons, we celebrate life’s simple joys.
- Accountability & Growth: We take ownership, learn from experience, and always strive to do better.
Our Approach to Care
At Hollymount, great care starts with listening.
From the moment someone joins us, we take time to understand who they are, their story, routines, and the small details that bring comfort or joy. Whether it’s a favourite radio station, a bedtime ritual, or the music that lifts their mood, it all matters.
We tailor every part of daily life to each person, from personalised room setup and meals to activities and thoughtful touches that make life feel familiar.
Our team isn’t just skilled, they’re chosen for their warmth, kindness and caring nature.
Families stay informed and involved every step of the way, and no request is ever too small. Whether someone is with us for a few weeks or making Hollymount their home, we offer care that’s flexible, thoughtful, and always personal.
As one family member put it:
“My wife has been in this care home for 14 months. I have only good comments about her care there. She is very happy there and is well looked after by caring staff who are well managed. Being 85 myself, it's good to know she is in safe hands. Her room is spacious, well presented and clean. Her clothes are kept in good condition, and she always looks so nice when I visit, which is often. The food and activities are brilliant. I have no complaints whatsoever about Hollymount.”
Families Are Part of the Picture
At Hollymount, we believe care works best when families feel part of the journey. From day one, we invite loved ones to share their insights, join reviews, take part in events, and enjoy the moments that matter most. Whether that’s a shared meal, a day out, or simply time together.
We understand that moving into care can be a big change, not just for the person, but for the people who love them. That’s why we offer open communication and steady emotional support at every step, from settling in to adapting to new needs and life’s unexpected challenges.
Family and friends are always welcome, no need to book or call ahead. Whether it’s popping in for a brew, joining an activity, or spending quiet time together, this is a place to feel close and connected.
We offer:
- Flexible visiting, any day, anytime
- Invitations to special meals, outings, and activities
- Support with video calls, messages, and updates
- Guidance through transitions and care planning
At Hollymount, families aren’t just visitors. They’re part of the fabric of daily life.

Part of the Community
We’re not just based in Blackburn, we’re part of the community that surrounds and supports us.
We’ve built long-standing relationships with local schools, churches, health teams, charities, and community groups. From nursery visits and coffee mornings to entertainers and wellness sessions, our doors stay open and our calendar full.
We also help the people we support stay connected beyond our home, with regular outings to the local market, park strolls, seaside trips, and visits to favourite spots like Oswaldtwistle Mill and Blackpool.
Our Team
At the heart of Hollymount is a dedicated, long-standing team, including carers, senior care staff, managers, chefs, wellbeing & activities coordinators, and specialist dementia champions. All led by our experienced manager, Carolyn.
With one shared goal:
To make every day meaningful for the people we support.
As one family member put it:
“My mum moved into Hollymount a couple of months ago and I’ve found the home to be just right for my mum. The staff have been so lovely and patient with my mum's dementia. They all work hard to keep all the residents occupied and entertained. My mum hardly ate anything before moving into the home but thanks to the chef and lovely kitchen staff she’s eating really well. My mum's room is cosy and clean and she’s been very comfortable there. I can’t thank everyone enough at Hollymount for giving excellent care to my mum.”
Come and See for Yourself
Choosing care is a big decision, and you deserve the time, space, and support to get it right.
At Hollymount, we welcome walk-in visits between 9am and 8pm every day, no appointment needed. Or, if you’d prefer something quieter, just give us a call or use our online form to book a private tour at a time that suits you.
You’re always welcome to meet our team, explore our home, and ask as many questions as you like. We’ll pop the kettle on and take it at your pace, no pressure, no obligation. Because the best way to know if Hollymount feels right… is to come and see for yourself.
